This fabric is so darn cute. It makes me want to go splash in some puddles....

Bunny treasure bags

I had some felt left over from the bunny hand puppets I made for the kiddies for Easter and saw these cute little bunny bags on mermag.blogspot.com. I fell in love with them and had to make some.

I think they turned out pretty cute, but if I make more I want to make them a bit bigger as the hole to fill them is just too tiny.

On the needles

I'm knitting up a garter yoke baby cardi (pattern by Jennifer Hoel available for free on ravelry.com). It's coming together very quickly and uses dpns and circular needles. I'm using one of my favourite yarns for this project - cleckheaton country 8 ply in a great indigo blue shade that has flecks of brown. I'm thinking of adding some vintage brown leather buttons but will wait to see how they look before making my final decision.

I'm in love with a fox scarf

I decided to make my little girl a scarf for winter as she has been happily playing with a scarf from one of her teddybears.

After looking around I settled on making a little fox scarf. There are some great patterns for them like the Stone Cold Fox Scarf  a free pattern by Katie Boyette and the Mr Fox Stole by tiny owl knits. I absolutly love both of these patterns but I decided on making a modified version of this little fox scarf by Eustache et Caroline. I modified it to make it suitable for a toddler by only increasing to 18 stitches wide for the main body and only cast on 6 stitches for the legs and ears.

Here is a pic of the little fox scarf I made.

2012 to do list

I can't believe it is March already. Where is 2012 going?

I have so many projects I want to get done this year and thought I would make a list to help me get through them.

I have already started some knitting projects. I find these are easy to carry around with me, to the park, to the play room, in the garden. I can even work on them with small child climbing in my lap trying to get a better view of the television - although there have been a few dropped stitches that need to be picked up again.

I have started or plan to knit:
  • a fox scarf
  • a knitted dress by Tora Froseth design
  • some dolly clothes
  • a new scarf for me
  • an easter egg cosy
I'm finding sewing is a little more challenging when there is a child wanting to climb on your lap. So am having to sew during nap time.

I have started or plan to sew:
  • a bunny hairclip for easter
  • a little doona cover
  • some dolly clothes
  • felt alphabet
There are lots of other things I want to make too:
I'm positive as 2012 continues to disappear I will be adding and swapping projects on my list - I guess that is half the fun.
