I'm in love with a fox scarf

I decided to make my little girl a scarf for winter as she has been happily playing with a scarf from one of her teddybears.

After looking around I settled on making a little fox scarf. There are some great patterns for them like the Stone Cold Fox Scarf  a free pattern by Katie Boyette and the Mr Fox Stole by tiny owl knits. I absolutly love both of these patterns but I decided on making a modified version of this little fox scarf by Eustache et Caroline. I modified it to make it suitable for a toddler by only increasing to 18 stitches wide for the main body and only cast on 6 stitches for the legs and ears.

Here is a pic of the little fox scarf I made.

2012 to do list

I can't believe it is March already. Where is 2012 going?

I have so many projects I want to get done this year and thought I would make a list to help me get through them.

I have already started some knitting projects. I find these are easy to carry around with me, to the park, to the play room, in the garden. I can even work on them with small child climbing in my lap trying to get a better view of the television - although there have been a few dropped stitches that need to be picked up again.

I have started or plan to knit:
  • a fox scarf
  • a knitted dress by Tora Froseth design
  • some dolly clothes
  • a new scarf for me
  • an easter egg cosy
I'm finding sewing is a little more challenging when there is a child wanting to climb on your lap. So am having to sew during nap time.

I have started or plan to sew:
  • a bunny hairclip for easter
  • a little doona cover
  • some dolly clothes
  • felt alphabet
There are lots of other things I want to make too:
I'm positive as 2012 continues to disappear I will be adding and swapping projects on my list - I guess that is half the fun.
